Summer Softball |

Once I got into college, I started playing softball in the summer with players from other colleges around Milwaukee. This summer, I played for a team called Miss Katie's Diner. Playing on this team was so much fun, because I not only got to play with some of my closest friends, but got to meet many new people as well. Softball helped me branch out and meet new people that I never would have gotten the opportunity to talk to otherwise, and has made me more outgoing, and also willing to try new things. |
I have been playing softball
pretty much for as long as I can remember. Playing softball has
taught me to value certain things, such as teamwork, cooperation, and
that through hard work and perseverance, you can achieve anything you
want. I believe that all of these things will transfer over into
my teaching. When I'm not playing at
school, I play for a summer team back home called the Falls Angels.
I started playing for the Angels when I was only 11 years old, and
played for them until I was 19 years old. I played with most of
these girls ever since I started with the Angels Below is a
picture of my team and I after my very last tournament playing for the
Angels.

"Everyday is a new opportunity; you
can build on yesterday's successes or put its failures behind and start
over again. That's the way life is. And that's the way
baseball is." Over all the years of my playing career, I have had lots of successes, but also my fair share of failures as well. Softball has taught me that although you may fail, you can learn from your failures and eventually with enough hard work, you will succeed. I was always taught that if you fall seven times, you get back up eight. It was through all of these years that I have learned to persevere, and to never give up. As a teacher, I hold similar feelings. I will never give up on any student, and will always work my hardest to give each and every student the education and the resources that they need to succeed.
