I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which made attending college at Stevens Point quite the experience for me.  I am used to the fast paced, always on the go city setting, so it is sometimes hard for me when I visit places that aren't quite the same.   This doesn't make me want to teach in one area more than the other, but makes me sensitive to the fact that students in these areas are different, and I feel coming to school here gives me confidence that I can teach anywhere, because I am easily able to adjust to my environment. I attended Rufus King International Baccalaureate High School, where I was involved in Spanish National Honor Society and played three sports: volleyball, basketball, and softball. Softball was my favorite though, and that was what would eventually lead me to the University of Wisconsin Parkside, where I spent my freshman year of college playing softball on athletic scholarship. I ended up transferring to the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point to pursue a degree in Elementary Education.  When I transferred to Stevens Point at the beginning of my sophomore year, I also joined the softball team and am currently playing in my last year with the team.  To the left is a picture of a few members of our team raking this past fall for a fundraiser.  (In the picture, left to right: Melissa Boldt, myself, and Laura Van Abel.)

When I am not at school, I am back home in Milwaukee for the summers working.  One of the places I work at is McKinley Marina, which is located in downtown Milwaukee. I am excited to work at the Marina because it is right on Lake Michigan, and has a fantastic view!!  To the right is a picture of McKinley Marina.

One thing I love to do is walk and spend time with my dog Zoë.  She is a three year old black Labrador who is always getting into things and causing trouble!  I also enjoy playing Frisbee with my sister's dog Sam, who is a Fox Red Labrador and is very energetic!
