My mother has been my inspiration to become a teacher.  She has supported me in everything I have done in my life and has helped me through many highs and lows.  Growing up I was able to watch my mother go through college and earn her teaching degree in Elementary Education.  While working on this degree she was able to raise two children, work full-time, manage a marriage, and still obtain outstanding grades.  Her perseverance in her education showed me how important it was to obtain a college degree.

As she began her teaching journey I was able to spend many hours with her in her kindergarten classroom helping with things.  This first-hand experience showed me how much I enjoyed being a leader and working in the classroom.  As I watched my mother, again, go back to college to obtain her Exceptional Education license I knew I wanted to be a part of the educational system.

When my mother began teaching Exceptional Education I was again able to observe her in her classroom.  Being able to see her as such a great role model and watching her help students was an experience that not all children get to see from their parents.  All of these experiences have inspired me to do the same and be an educator.  I believe my mother has instilled in me the qualities needed to help educate our future.
