General

Web Pages (inetpub)

UWSP students, faculty and staff have 5 GB of file storage on a network directory where they can store files related to instruction, educational or university business activities.  This space is referred to as myfiles.uwsp.edu and can be accessed from any computer you log on to on-campus or from anywhere you have Internet access.

Students network storage space is divided into two directories called Inetpub and Private.  You MUST save files in these folders (you cannot save files at the "root" of your storage space).

  • Inetpub – Use your Inetpub folder for development of a personal website and any files that you would like to make available for browsing on the Internet.

  • Private – Use your Private folder to store files which are accessible only to yourself.

Faculty and staff network storage space includes one directory, called Private.  You MUST save files in these folders (you cannot save files at the "root" of your storage space).

  • Private – Use your Private folder to store files which are accessible only to yourself.

Accessing your network storage space from:

On campus  (ResNet users follow the off-campus instructions)
Your network storage space (myfiles.uwsp.edu) will be automatically connected when you log on to any Standard Campus Load (SCL) computer on-campus.

From a PC SCL
Click Start - My Computer. You will see the drive listed as https://myfiles.uwsp.edu/your_logon_name (Ex. https://myfiles.uwsp.edu/spoin111)

From a Mac SCL
Double-click the icon on the desktop that is labeled with your UWSP ID number.

Off campus
You can access your network storage space from off-campus using the WebDAV protocol.  WebDAV stands for Web-based Distributed Authoring and Versioning and it allows you to use the Internet for creating, managing and moving content on a remote server
